Holiday Dinner | December 2023
By Department of Surgery | Jan 10, 2024
Every year, the SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery hosts a holiday event that brings
faculty and residents together for a good time outside of work. It's a joyous time
to share stories, meet each other's family members, and enjoy a nice meal with our
Downstate family. This year, we held the event at the Dyker Heights Golf Club. However,
the Downstate family did more than just have dinner. We honored our beloved resident,
Erfan Faridmoayer, MD, who passed away suddenly a week prior.
Erfan was one of our best and brightest residents. He was also extremely committed
to growing the program's success and community. During the holiday dinner, we celebrated
his spirit and memory, as remembered fondly and gratefully, the good times we shared with Erfan.
Despite the recent tragedy and loss, the SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery is thankful for everyone who contributed and attended this year's holiday event. It was a special one, and the Downstate family was happy to share a nice evening together before the New Year.
