The Department of Surgery extends its heartfelt congratulations to rising chief resident, Dr. Alia Ishtiaq, on her fellowship match in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY.
As a Brooklyn native, Dr. Ishtiaq obtained her undergraduate degree in Brooklyn College, followed by her medical degree at American University of Antigua College of Medicine.
