Office of Development & Philanthropy

Here to support Downstate's ongoing quest to nurture the Brooklyn community and improve the health of people around the world.

Your Support Makes a Difference

It's not the amount that matters but the meaning behind your donation.

Education

SUNY Downstate trains more than 2,000 students and nearly 1,000 residents a year to become compassionate and highly competent physicians, nurses, public health, biomedical researchers, and other health professionals. By contributing to Downstate you will have a direct impact on training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Research

Biomedical research is a growth industry at SUNY Downstate. Building on milestones in magnetic imaging, dialysis, microsurgery, pharmacology and HIV research, we continue to pave the way for new discoveries. The Biotechnology Incubator and BioBat, a collaboration with NYC EDC located at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, provide unprecedented opportunities to combine our existing research expertise with that of both start-up and mature biotechnology firms.

Community Service

It is impossible to over estimate SUNY Downstate's impact on the local community.

Occupational Therapy White Coat Ceremony

On Friday, April 19th, second-year students will be honored at the White Coat Ceremony to celebrate the completion of coursework and send them off to their fieldwork experiences. We choose the white coat as a symbol of professionalism and a commitment to equitable and client-centered care.

Your support will help us recognize this hardworking and talented cohort of occupational therapy students.

Please make your donation to Occupational Therapy Program Fund.
