Trainee Elected to AAMC Organization of Resident Representatives

Following a highly selective process, Ashley Ramirez, MD, MS, PGY1 resident with the Department of Surgery, has been elected by the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) to serve in the Organization of Resident Representatives (ORR). Per AAMC, "The Organization of Resident Representatives provides a venue for resident physicians to have input into the development of AAMC policy, and as a leadership opportunity for residents interested in academic medicine, serving as a vehicle for professional development activities for members."

ORR provides a venue for resident physicians to actively participate in development of AAMC policy and shape the future framework of academic medicine. The cohort represents trainees from various specialties nationally, and is a premier venue for residents’ leadership and professional development.
