Resident Publishes Chapter on Translational Surgery

The Department is proud to recognize the contribution of Erfan Faridmoayer, MD, one of our general surgery residents, to a newly released surgical handbook of Translational Surgery.
Under the mentorship of Dr. F. Charles Brunicardi, Dean of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and Dr. Alexander Schwartzman, Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery, the chapter titled "What problem are you solving?" explores methods of defining a surgical question in an objective and assessable fashion. The aim of this handbook is to provide an accessible reference for surgeons and trainees interested in engaging translational research as part of their career.
