Multiple Abstracts Accepted for Presentation at the 2023 Academic Surgical Congress

The Department of Surgery and the iNSPIRe initiative are proud to announce the acceptance of multiple abstracts to the 18th Annual Academic Surgical Congress taking place from February 7-9 in Houston, Texas. 

Erfan Faridmoayer, MD is currently a general surgery resident and postdoctoral research fellow. His project titled In-Hospital Mortality Trends After Transcatheter or Open Aortic Valve Replacement was selected for a quick-shot oral presentation.

Multiple student researchers from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine were also selected to showcase their research findings on a variety of subjects:

Junhyung Katie An, MS4 will present a quick-shot presentation titled Inflation-adjusted Costs of Transcatheter and Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement Over the Past Decade

Lindsay Haefner, MS4 will present a quick-shot presentation titled Regional Variation in Admission Costs after Transcatheter or Open Aortic Valve Replacement.

SeungJoon Noh, MS3 will present a quick-shot presentation titled Effect of Chronic Kidney and Peripheral Artery Disease on Mortality after Aortic Valve Replacement.

Tobi Somorin, MS2 will present a quick-shot presentation titled Medicaid Health Insurance Associated with Decreasing Profit Margins among Academic Medical Centers

Our students and resident will present their work to a national audience of faculty and trainees from other academic surgical communities. We congratulate them on their hard work and look forward to sharing their continued success in the future.
