Welcoming the PGY-1 Class of 2025–2026

The SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery proudly welcomed the incoming PGY-1 class of 2025–2026 with a celebratory gathering on July 27th at Marco Polo Restaurant. The annual welcome party is a cherished tradition, offering faculty, residents, and staff a meaningful opportunity to meet the newest members of the department and usher in the start of a new academic year. The exceptional turnout highlighted the camaraderie and strong sense of community within our department. The Department of Surgery extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Becker and residency program coordinators Theodora Mompoint and Viola Glasgow for their hard work and dedication in organizing and hosting such an enjoyable event.
