Transplant Division Excels in CMS Recertification Survey

The Department of Surgery is proud to recognize the outstanding success of the Transplant Division following its recent Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Recertification Survey, held from September 8 to 10, 2025.

The unannounced three-day review concluded with no pending findings, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the division’s commitment to excellence and patient-centered care. Surveyors commended the program’s “remarkable 180-degree improvement” since the previous survey in 2020 and highlighted the team’s progress, collaboration, and quality initiatives.

Patients praised the Transplant team for their compassionate, high-quality care, further reinforcing the division’s outstanding reputation. Special recognition goes to Andrea S. Johnson, RN, MBA, CCTC, and Charmaine Browne, BSN, MSN, RN, for their leadership and dedication.
