Research Fellowship Announcement | Dr. Ron Shemtov

The SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery is excited to announce that Dr. Ron Shemtov, current PGY-2 Downstate General Surgery resident, will commence a two-year dual research fellowship this July with SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery’s iNSPIRe and Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Shemtov’s work will focus on clinical outcomes and health services-related research, using large datasets to study access to care, disparities, and surgical outcomes. He will also be involved in projects related to reconstructive and oncologic surgery. This year will provide an opportunity to further develop his research skills and strengthen his commitment to advancing evidence-based, equitable surgical care.
