Department of Surgery Thanksgiving Gathering

Amidst the demanding schedules, long hours, and clinical responsibilities that define our work, it is essential to pause and appreciate the strong community we have built within the Department of Surgery. This month, we were grateful for the opportunity to do just that at our annual Thanksgiving gathering. 

The event provided a moment to step away from the clinical environment to share a meal and reconnect with colleagues across all levels of the department. The warmth and genuine connection between our colleagues were reminders of what makes Downstate Surgery not just a workplace, but a family. 

We would like to extend a special recognition and heartfelt thank you to our very own Tiara Simon and Heena Patel for their exceptional efforts in organizing this year’s Thanksgiving gathering. Their thoughtful planning and attention to detail shows a commitment to fostering community. Gatherings like this do not happen without dedicated individuals working behind the scenes, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts.
