Downstate Surgery Heads to Orlando | Academic Surgical Congress 2026

The Department of Surgery congratulates our residents and medical students whose abstracts were accepted for presentation at the 2026 Academic Surgical Congress. The congress will take place February 3–5, 2026, at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace in Orlando, FL. We are proud that our residents Sukaina B. Alikhan, MD, Maryam Ali Khan, MD (members of iLab), and Claire C. Ferguson, MD, research fellow as well as medical students Steven Medvedovsky and Tony Joseph, have earned this esteemed opportunity to present their work. Their acceptances reflect a strong dedication to surgical science and the department’s ongoing commitment to research and academic excellence. We look forward to seeing their work represented on a national stage in Orlando.
