Resident Spotlight | Dr. Sukaina Alikhan at the AAST 2025 Conference

The Department of Surgery proudly congratulates Dr. Sukaina Alikhan for representing SUNY Downstate at the 2025 American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Annual Meeting. Dr. Alikhan was awarded the AAST Annual Meeting Scholarship, a prestigious award to support trainees to become a part of the AAST community, network with leading trauma surgeons, and engage in the cutting edge program at the Annual Meeting. 

Dr. Alikhan attended the national conference, which brought together leaders in trauma and acute care surgery from across the country to share the latest research, innovations, and best practices in the field. Her participation reflects Downstate’s ongoing commitment to excellence in surgical education, scholarship, and professional growth.
