Celebrating Ramadan

By Wayne J. Riley, M. D., MPH, MBA, MACP | Apr 1, 2022

As families of the Muslim faith prepare to celebrate Ramadan, I extend my best wishes for a blessed and peaceful commemoration to everyone observing this holy month.

Ramadan represents a time for millions of Muslims worldwide to renew and reinforce beliefs and recommit themselves to their faith through a spiritually reflective month marked by fasting, introspection, and prayer.

It is also a time to serve your neighbors and lend a helping hand to those in need. Ramadan underscores and highlights the aspirational and universally shared values held by those of the Islamic faith—respect for your fellow man, generosity, peace, and love for all.

As Ramadan begins, I pray that everyone observing is reinvigorated and renewed by the values of their faith.

Ramadan Mubarak!
