Chinese American Medical Society (CAMS)

The Chinese American Medical Society (CAMS) is a non-profit, charitable, educational, and scientific organization committed to education and community service. Established in 1964, it is the oldest and now one of the largest and most successful national Chinese American medical societies in North America.

Our goals are to combat health disparities particularly affecting Chinese Americans and other underserved populations, to promote and educate others on Chinese culture, and to advocate for medical professionals and patients of Chinese descent.

Our present and past events have included Lunar New Year celebrations, flu shot clinics, medical Chinese language classes, hepatitis B screenings, and others. All members of Downstate are welcome at our events. We strive to further enrich Downstate’s diversity with the knowledge, passion, and service of our members.
