Scrub In: General Surgery Match 2026

The SUNY Downstate Department of Surgery is proud to welcome our newest class of General Surgery residents for Match 2026. We are thrilled to celebrate this outstanding group of incoming categorical and preliminary residents, whose accomplishments and commitment to pursuing a career in surgery distinguished them throughout the application process. 

We are excited to welcome our incoming Categorical Residents: Jiayang Cong, Alexa Hagopian, Saad Hussain, Panagiotis Papadopoulos, Eleftheria Slika, Christopher Sy, Segni Tesema, and Joshua Tsai. 

We are also pleased to welcome our incoming Preliminary Residents: Margaret Adams, Ruth Agyekum, Georgios Bouloukakis, Sung Choo, Sarah Lee, Saeed Mohammed, Nahom Mulatu, Gayatri Muley, Eduardo Quinones, Gheorghe Roibu, Roy Saade, and Marvi Shah. 

Match Day is always a special moment for our department, marking the beginning of a new chapter for future surgeons and the continued growth of our Downstate Surgery family. We look forward to supporting this talented group as they begin their surgical training and contribute to the clinical, academic, and educational mission of our department.
