Gallery of Awards and Honors To Be Displayed Prior to Ceremony
Brooklyn, NY - A tribute to the life and work of the late Robert F. Furchgott, PhD, distinguished professor and recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, will be held at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the Alumni Auditorium, 395 Lenox Road, Brooklyn 11203.
The Furchgott family has generously donated Dr. Furchgott’s awards to SUNY Downstate, and they will be on display in the Atrium adjacent to the Auditorium on October 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Awards on view will include Dr. Furchgott’s Nobel Prize medal, The Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research, The Gairdner Foundation Award, and many more.
