Bruxism

What is Bruxism?

Bruxism is a common sleep disorder in which a person grinds or clenches his teeth involuntarily during sleep. It may occur along with other sleep disorders. Daily stress can be a trigger for bruxism in some people.

Bruxism can cause disruption of sleep for the sufferer as well as his bed partner. It can also lead to the wear and fracture of teeth and pain in the jaw muscle. A mouth guard, custom-made by a dentist, can prevent teeth from grinding against each other.
