ALERT- Construction Activity Parkside Ave ROAD CLOSURES – Weekdays from Thurs 7/18
thru Friday 7/26 (9am to 4pm): During this road closure activity, the 324Winthrop Ave lot gate will be open for all Downstate Monthly and Daily parkers entering and exiting vehicles. Downstate
Monthly Parkers assigned at the 711Parkside lot will be able to park in the 324Winthrop
lot.
The Parkside Ave road closure time frames below is general. On any given day, the actual road closure is subject to change. It may be periodic/sporadic and is often weather dependent, typical in all major construction projects. The additional planned weekdayPARKSIDE AVEROAD CLOSURES between Nostrand and NY Avenues are expectedon (similar to recent prior road closures):
Thursday 7/18, and Friday 7/19/24 , as well as
ALL WEEKMon 7/22 thru Friday 7/26/24
Construction activity will be occurring at rear Parkside Ave side of the 329Clarkson Ave property that is under construction (next to the 760 Biotech
building). We were advised that the construction workers at the road closure (corner
of Nostrand and Parkside) will allow vehicles to enter the roadway upon Vehicle Driver Request.

DAILYparking: Rate is $14. per day. Pay anytime prior to your vehicle pickup at the Parking Kiosks
on the same day (scroll up on this page for instructions).
If you suspect an overcharge for a Daily Parking fee: common causes:
The daily parking fees posted to your credit card account statement often has a different transaction date than the date your bank posted date to your card account. Review the actual transaction date on your statement. Your card statement usually shows detail of the actual (different) transaction date for the specific daily fee charge you paid.
If you see multiple daily parking fees posted to your credit card account statement
on the same day: Often the charges apply to multiple different days that your bank posted to your account on the same day. Your card statement usually
shows detail of the actual (different) transaction date for each of the daily fee charges.
Is the claim ticket fee amount excessive? If you didn't pay your claim check on the day of issuance before your lot exit, and
you pay your claim check late on a future day, the claim check ticket rate will automatically
charge you the daily rate for the total # days between your check in date and your payment date. It's important that you pay on the day you parked.
If you see an overcharged rate, and you plan to use Daily Parking regularly, don't pay it now(it will charge you for the number of days since you should have paid it on the day
you actually parked). Instead, ON YOUR NEXT DAILY parking lot ENTRY, get the old claim ticket cost adjusted by showing the old unpaid claim check to the
lot attendant. The lot attendant will void that old claim ticket and issue to you
TWO daily claim checks (one replacing the old cost at ONE day, plus a claim ticket
for the current day). You’ll then be able to pay both tickets on the current day,
each cost at the $14.00 single day rate.
If you don't plan on a timely "next visit," or if youalready paidthe claim check at its higher rate, please send email toparking@downstate.edu (link)requesting any rate adjustment or refund; include a picture of the claim check showing claim ticket #, date, and your vehicle
plate number.
