Transportation & Shuttle Service Hours

5:00 AM until 2:00 PM

Shuttle services to and from campus parking lots and transportation hubs are available by request Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) at these times. For transportation requests, call the University Police Department at extension 2626.

2:00 PM until 12:15 AM

Shuttles depart regularly from the UHD 445 Lenox Road, HSEB 395 Lenox Road, PHAB 450 Clarkson Ave, and Outpatient Services 470 Clarkson Ave continually to each of our campus parking lots and the following transportation hubs in 15-minute intervals.

  • Nostrand Avenue & Winthrop Street: 2/5 Trains, B44 Bus
  • Church Avenue & Nostrand Avenue: 2/5 Trains, B35 & B44 Bus
  • Church Avenue & East 18th Street: B/Q Trains, B35 Bus
  • Parkside Avenue & Ocean Avenue: B/Q Trains, B12 & B16 Bus

Transportation to these satellite locations is provided:

  • Family Medicine (253 Empire Boulevard)
  • The VA Hospital (800 Poly Place)
  • Maimonides (4802 10th Avenue)
  • Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center (1 Brookdale Plaza)
  • Coney Island Hospital (2601 Ocean Parkway)
  • Mount Sinai Hospital (3201 Kings Highway)

Chief Maldonado or his designee must approve any special requests for shuttle services or destinations beyond those indicated above. Please call (718) 270-3161 or (718) 270-4051 for more information concerning special requests.

12:15 AM to 5:00 AM

After-Hours transportation service is available. Call Ext. 2626 (718-270-2626) to request transportation service.

All passengers must present their SUNY Downstate Medical Center Downstate ID when boarding the shuttle.

Employees, students, and residents may use the link below or scan the QR code to track shuttles traveling between the campus and hospital rotation sites.
