Medical and Pediatric Dermatology

Doctor and Patient

The mission of our residency program is to train residents in the essentials of adult and pediatric medical dermatology. All of our clinical sites have diverse patient populations, allowing our residents to gain exposure to a wide variety of skin diseases. Residents also have the opportunity to learn photomedicine/phototherapy during their first-year VA and Kings County rotations. These patients are often followed long-term throughout the resident’s rotation.

Our Program Director, Dr. Sharon Glick, is a board-certified pediatric dermatologist with expertise in medical genetics and runs the outpatient and inpatient pediatric dermatology services at our core medical campuses, Kings County Hospital Center and SUNY Downstate University Hospital of Brooklyn. She also serves as the Director of Pediatric Dermatology at SUNY Downstate, Kings County Hospital Center and Maimonides Medical Center.

Residents also participate in a weekly pediatric dermatology journal club during their rotations at Kings County Hospital. During pediatric journal club, residents review selected articles from Pediatric Dermatology with Dr. Glick.
