Black History Month Dinner

The Student Center is the social and non-academic hub of the campus. We coordinate over 500 programs for the campus every year including:

  • game nights
  • trivia nights
  • paint nights
  • jukebox BINGO
  • coffeehouses
  • barbecues
  • tournaments
  • featured speakers
  • skills training
  • musical entertainment
  • craft nights
  • study/stress relief weeks
  • meetings/activities for our many clubs and organizations.

Special events include the Activities Fair, a Block Party, a campus-wide Thanksgiving dinner, the AIDS quilt, a Multi-Cultural Fair, Sex in Medicine Week, Substance Abuse Week, and the Spring Fling, an annual dinner/dance which has consistently sold out and is the largest student event during the year.

Ten teams participated in this year’s Intramural Basketball Program, which utilizes professional refs, and the winner is commemorated on the Trophy Cup.

Our Mini-Course Program offers courses which enroll over numerous participants each year. Recent offerings have included yoga, tango, fitness, Zumba, squash, and knitting.

We sponsor a quarterly Blood Drive, and organize off-campus trips to sporting and cultural events, most recently to The Brooklyn Nets and Broadway’s Hadestown.

Orientation and Commencement are two of the major programs which are coordinated through the Department of Student Life and allow tremendous opportunities for student involvement.
