Resident Support, Benefits, and Conditions of Employment

All residents in SUNY-DOWNSTATE sponsored residency program are provided with appropriate financial support and benefits. Compensation of residents and distribution of resources for the support of education is monitored by the GMEC.

Residents and fellows are salaried by designated affiliated institutions with salary and benefits generally as determined by the affiliate’s collective bargaining agreements; where collective bargaining agreements are not present, residents’ salary and benefits are negotiated to be in parity with that of SUNY Downstate salaried residents.
