The GME Office serves as the administrative arm of the University's GME Committee. It is responsible to the Committee for assuring the University's compliance with the Institutional Requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the Program Requirements of each discipline's residency Review Committee (RRC).

The office serves as a resource to residents and faculty in the following areas:

GME

Institutional Oversight of all GME Programs — Compliance and policies of ACGME, NRMP, Department of Health, CMS and other agencies with interest in GME.

GME Committee and Subcommittees — administrative and operational support.

Program Monitoring of GME Programs — administration of special and focused reviews of all training programs to assure compliance with RRC educational program requirements.

Resident Learning and Working conditions — monitors adequacy of ancillary services and working conditions at affiliated hospitals.

Resident Evaluation and Due Process — provides guidance and assistance to programs, residents and faculty on due process procedures

Counseling and Other Resident Support Services — provides confidential referral to counseling for academic or personal problems, including substance abuse.
