Residency Management Software: New Innovations
The New Innovations Residency Management Suite unifies program and resident information into a centralized data warehouse. It allows users to complete tasks historically performed using multiple, incompatible methods, through single common Web interface. New Innovations is used by the GME Office to on-board new residents and fellows, maintain resident records, demographics and credentialing information, track ACGME documentation, and maintain affiliation data, and by hospital finance to prepare Medicare Cost Reports. An individual Program, Practice, or Fellowship can use the Residency Management Suite to assist with rotation block, daily, clinic and on-call scheduling, schedule and contact distribution, curriculum distribution, conference scheduling and tracking, case and procedure logging, evaluations and performance benchmarking, anonymous resident evaluations, monitoring conference attendance, duty hours, resident portfolios and general personnel tracking.
The institutional implementation of New Innovations allows for collaborative scheduling and evaluations across departments. New Innovations supports mobile applications and synchronization for Palm OS, Pocket PC, Smartphone devices. New Innovations is now also being used in the College of Medicine for its Undergraduate Medical Education Module. Account access to New Innovations is arranged for all SUNY Downstate residents and can be obtained for your Program Coordinator or Director. For more information or for help regarding New Innovations, contact the RMS Manager Dr. Philip Kogan at philip.kogan@downstate.edu
