Oct 1, 2024

Dr. Tomas Daviu MolinariCongratulations to Dr. Tomás Daviú Molinari, a current PGY-4 surgery resident, on the acceptance of two of his research studies in the Journal of Vascular Surgery.

The first study, titled “In-hospital Mortality Risk after Endovascular and Open Aortic Aneurysm Repairs for Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms," analyzes the in-hospital mortality risk for patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms for the past to decades, showing that endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) offers a substantial survival advantage over open aneurysm repair (OAR), with improved outcomes over the past two decades.

The second study, “Socioeconomic and Regional Variations in Repair Modality for Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms," investigates disparities in rAAA treatment, finding no significant differences in modalities based on race or income, highlighting the significant impact of institution-specific decisions on the surgical approach adopted for the management of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms. These publications highlight Dr. Daviú Molinari's dedication to advancing surgical care and improving patient outcomes.
