The 16th Annual Brooklyn Health Promotion Summer Internship Program

BHDC CHAMPS is a 4-week neighborhood-engaged research program for high school students that introduces the fundamentals of public health, health sciences and research. This program provides an opportunity for local high school students who have interests in public health, health sciences and/or medicine to gain an understanding of health and the social determinants of health that impact the health and wellness of our neighborhoods. It also provides students with an opportunity to build relationships with local organizations through a partnership developing research projects.
Program Details
- Program Duration: July 6th -July 30th, 2026 Monday-Thursday 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM
- The program will be held in-person at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY.
- All participating students will receive a stipend.
- All participating students will receive a letter reflecting their community service.

Eligible high school students interested in public health, health sciences, stakeholder engagement, or health research can apply.
