Office of Innovation and Partnerships (I&P)

The Office of Innovation and Partnerships (I&P) at SUNY Downstate is responsible for leading and managing a number of activities related to the intellectual property (IP) assets which emerge from the research programs of investigators working at Downstate Health Sciences University.

I&P serves as a resource for faculty, staff and students who need guidance in pursuing research commercialization and intellectual property protection opportunities in compliance with SUNY and campus policies and procedures. I&P also serves as a central point of contact for external parties, such as corporate and venture investment entities, who wish to license SUNY Downstate technologies or patents, or otherwise partner with investigators at the Downstate campus.
