New Patient Appointment

Welcome to the SUNY Downstate Comprehensive Epilepsy Center! We provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients with epilepsy, seizures and related disorders. Our multi-disciplinary team includes board-certified adult and pediatric neurologists with specialized fellowship training in epilepsy, as well as neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, nurses, and neurotechnologists.  Our goal is to help our patients achieve seizure freedom without side effects, by providing compassionate individualized care.

Plan to arrive 45 minutes early to your first appointment, to allow enough time to register and complete required paperwork. Bring all of your medications with you, or an accurate, up-to-date list of your medications. If possible, make a list of seizure medications you have taken in the past as well. Copies of records from other physicians are always helpful, especially reports of prior studies such as EEG, MRI, video-EEG, and CAT scans. It is also helpful to bring along a family member or friend who has seen your seizures.
