Mandatory Ethics Training in June

By Department of Human Resources | Jun 15, 2026

Colleagues,

All state-paid employees must meet the mandatory annual Ethics Training requirement. Choose what works best for you: flexible online training (July dates now live) or the in-person session on campus in September.

Which training do I need to take?

  • If you have never been trained, or took the Ethics Refresher last year, you’ll take live Ethics training this year. This training can be taken online via COELIG (June & July dates below), or in-person with Rich Jones on September 17th.
  • If you took live Ethics training last year, you’re eligible to take the Online Ethics Refresher Training. It’s required for everyone on alternating years, opposite your live trainings, and is self-paced online. see bottom of email

In-Person Ethics Training at Downstate

In-person training is shifting from monthly to quarterly (thanks to the abundance of online dates offered by COELIG), and the first session of 2026 is now available:

September 17, 2026 at 2:30 – 4:30 PM

Please register by emailing human_resources@downstate.edu and they wil send you a calendar invitation.

Can’t make either the in-person date? Take your training online, instead!
