Wellness Reminder
January often brings a sense of new beginnings, but it can also feel overwhelming as routines resume and expectations for the new year set in. After the busy holiday season, some people experience fatigue, stress, or the “post-holiday blues.” This is a good time to be gentle with yourself, set realistic goals, and focus on small, healthy steps forward. Remember to check in with yourself and those around you. If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed or struggling, support is available. EAP is here to help.
Tips for Surviving the Seasonal & Holiday Blues
Acknowledge your feelings: It’s okay if the season doesn’t feel joyful. Your emotions are valid. - Maintain a routine: Regular sleep, meals, and movement can help stabilize mood and energy. - Set healthy boundaries: Say no when needed and limit commitments that cause stress or overwhelm. - Stay connected: Reach out to friends, family, or coworkers. - Get natural light: Spend time outdoors or near windows to help boost mood. - Practice self-care: Take short breaks, breathe deeply, and do activities that help you relax. - Ask for support: If the blues feel heavy or last longer than a couple of weeks, consider reaching out to EAP or a mental health professional.
