In Gratitude to our Veterans
By Office of Communications & Marketing | Nov 10, 2025
This Veterans Day, Downstate proudly honors the brave individuals who have served—and continue to serve—in
every branch of the United States Armed Forces. We recognize their courage, sacrifices,
and steadfast commitment to protecting the freedoms and values we hold dear.
Veterans have defended life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in countless ways—whether on the frontlines or through vital support roles. Many veterans call Brooklyn home, and several are valued members of our Downstate community, including retired service members, active-duty personnel, and those with family ties to the military.
To our Downstate veterans and active-duty members, including students, faculty, and staff, we extend our deepest gratitude. Veterans Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the ideals they embody every day: duty, discipline, courage, and commitment.
We are proud and grateful to all who serve, both within our community and around the world, for their unwavering dedication and selfless service. At Downstate, we salute their contributions to safeguarding the American Dream and strengthening our shared sense of purpose.
We invite you to join us in honoring their service by viewing a special video featuring Clarence Bryant, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator in Emergency Medicine.
