Feedback from our Graduates…

2019 Graduates

"This program has many strengths. One of its strengths is the amount of information the staff are able to effectively transfer to their students is amazing. I have met many other students from other programs and felt as if they did not have the level of understanding as students from the Downstate program. Another strength was that students were able to receive practical skills even when they weren't in a clinical setting. (With) the use of phantoms and computer-based simulators students were able to get a better feel for exams that were not frequently seen at their clinical sites."

J.D, Class of 2019

"The DMI Program truly provides students good knowledge, and excellent clinical skills to acquire their credentials and prepare for their entry-level sonography positions...Professors are amazing, they truly care about their students and they dedicated a lot of time and efforts to help students achieve their educational goals and obtain good clinical skills. Special thanks to all professors in our DMI program"

"Excellent professors who taught me the skills to scan and the knowledge in many subjects."

M.Z. Class of 2014

"The Program not only teaches you how to be a sonographer, but how to take information from the patient and develop your own theories about what might possibly be wrong. This comes in handy when a patient does not know why they are there, or thinking they have had the wrong exam ordered. A Downstate student will know why and for what purpose each exam was ordered."

C.S. Class of 2013

"Professors are always available to assist and answer any questions."

A.S. Class of 2013

"Downstate provides a strong academic foundation, and I have the ability to obtain multiple registries."

R.P. Class of 2012

"I was very well prepared for my registry exams."

L.F. Class of 2012

"I have been a clinical instructor for 37 years. Every student from Downstate that I have worked with for the past 28 years at Weill Cornell, has had the appropriate interpersonal skills necessary for assuming the responsibility of a health professional. The Diagnostic Medical ultrasound program itself provides the necessary didactic and clinical training for each student to develop his/her technical skills. I highly recommend this program."
