Frequently Asked Questions

Our two-year sonography program runs over the course of six semesters.

Our program begins in the Fall semester (late August/early September) each year. We do not accept new students for the Spring or Summer semesters.

New students are required to enroll in the program full-time.

The DMI Program has a daytime curriculum consisting of classroom and clinical components. Classes take place Monday - Friday, between 9:00AM & 5:00PM. There are no evening, weekend, or online options.

We accept 25-27 students each year.

The program is reviewed by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

The DMI Program does not provide job placement. However, we share job listings with our students and alumni by email and post on our job board. In addition, DMI students complete clinical rotations each semester in ultrasound labs within the five boroughs. These clinical internships provide our students with opportunities to network.
