Diagnostic sonography — or ultrasound — is among the fastest-growing professions in health care. There is no better place to study sonography than SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn.

Trained in multiple specialties of sonography, such as Obstetrics-Gynecology, Abdomen, Echocardiography, and Vascular, graduates have their pick of attractive career opportunities. Placement rates for our well-respected graduates are exceptional. Graduates are employed as sonographers in major hospital centers and private medical offices. As they advance in their careers, they may choose to work as hospital administrators, clinical applications specialists, or ultrasound educators. Starting salaries in the New York Metropolitan area are approximately $75,000-$80,000.
