Schedules

Our program has adopted the 4+2 also known as the X+Y structure in which each resident has 4 weeks blocks of inpatient rotations which are followed by a 2-week ambulatory block. This allows residents to focus solely on inpatient and outpatient medicine while on their blocks allowing for a better educative experience.

All residents are equally divided into 3 firms - A, B, and C. Each firm has 4 weeks of inpatient rotation followed by the 2-week ambulatory block in a running rotatory pattern thus allowing for an equal amount of inpatient and outpatient medicine for everyone.

Residents in a preliminary year have a schedule similar to a categorical PGY-1 but do not have an outpatient ambulatory block. They will have those blocks dedicated to the required rotations set forth by their respective advanced specialties (E.g.: Anesthesiology, Radiology, dermatology, etc.) allowing them to transition into their advanced matches upon completion of their intern year.
