Undergraduate Pathway Programs
1. Early Medical Education Program
The Early Medical Education Program is an initiative to increase the competitiveness of pre-medical students by providing exam preparation and academic support. Students will learn time & stress management skills and have an opportunity for hands-on exposure to medical disciplines through shadowing experiences with clinicians. Successful participants are guaranteed admission to SUNY Downstate’s College of Medicine.
Who Can Apply?
Rising and current seniors attending one of the following colleges: Brooklyn College, City College, Fordham University, Hunter College, Lehman College, Medgar Evers College, Queens College, St. Francis College, Stony Brook University, SUNY Old Westbury, York College, SUNY Albany, Xavier University of Louisiana.

2. SPRINTER
Are you interested in a unique summer research experience that combines basic science with health disparities and community-based research?
Apply now for the Summer Program in Translational Disparities and Community Engaged Research (SPRINTER) at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. SPRINTER provides:
- Research methodology skills
- Hands-on research
- Discussions on social determinants of health
- Networking
opportunities - Community engagement and outreach opportunities
- Training in basic science techniques

3. SUNY EOP Pre-Med Summer Program
The SUNY Educational Opportunity Summer Program (EOP) at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and SUNY Stony Brook is an in-person program designed to expose students from SUNY colleges and universities to career options in the health professions. Through faculty presentations, workshops, and discussions with practitioners, EOP participants will learn how to prepare for health career programs while clarifying the next steps in their academic and professional journeys.
THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY OPEN TO SUNY EOP STUDENTS.
