Programs for High School Students

Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)

The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) is an 8-week, Saturday only, program dedicated to engaging High School students interested in the Health Professions. Students are chosen from disadvantaged school zones in all 5 boroughs of NYC. These students are mentored by SUNY Downstate students and participate in academic workshops, anatomy lectures  and lab with disection. HPREP equips students with academic skills needed for college and prepares them for study in health-related disciplines. All activities culminate in a final research presentation. HRPEP is coordinated and taught by student facilitators from our schools of various disciplines here at Downstate.

HPREP applications for 2023 are currenly closed.
