HEALTH HACKS: 5 WEEKS TO LEVEL UP
Are you a High School student interested in a career in healthcare? Are looking to level up your health awareness? Are you seeking mentorship and academic guidance from world-class medical school students? Well, look no futher!
We are pleased to annouce our health awareness series 'Health Hacks: 5 Weeks to level up'! Health Hacks is a 5 week program tailored around education on prevalent health issues. Each week students enjoy vibrant, engaging, virtual sessions led by current medical students. This is an amazing opportunity for students interested in health careers. Parents and Educators are welcome!

Brooklyn Scholar Athletes with Academic Goals Program (BK-SWAG)
The Brooklyn Scholar Athlete with Academic Goals (BK-SWAG) Program provides underrepresented student athletes and students interested in sports to careers in healthcare that combine their interest in the health sciences with their love for sports. BK- SWAG seeks students who have a strong work ethic, leadership skills, work well in teams, and have the confidence and drive for excellence. Students enrolled in the BK-SWAG program are introduced to various health professional fields as it aligns with sports. Students meet with leaders in healthcare and gain first hand knowledge about a variety of health professions.
Students participate in workshops on health disparities, they engage with providers in sport related healthcare fields, and they receive academic support, guidance and mentorship. All students receive CPR certification free of cost. BK-SWAG is open to all students interested in careers that combine healthcare and sports.

Early Exposure for College & High School Students in Orthopedics (ECHO)
Calling all women high school and undergraduates interested in careers in orthopedics! The Early Exposure for College & High School Students in Orthopedics (ECHO) is a 9-week program designed to expose women interested in orthopedics to mentorship, networking, research experience and career readiness tools.

Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)
The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) is an 8-week, Saturday only, program dedicated to engaging High School students interested in the Health Professions. Students are chosen from disadvantaged school zones in all five boroughs of NYC. These students are mentored by SUNY Downstate students and participate in academic workshops, anatomy lectures and lab with dissection. HPREP equips students with academic skills needed for college and prepares them for study in health-related disciplines. All activities culminate in a final research presentation. HPREP is coordinated and taught by student facilitators from our schools of various disciplines here at Downstate.
