By Office of The President | Feb 21, 2023
Kudos to Ernest J. Barthélemy, M.D., MPH, MA, on his invitation to participate on April 12 at the Harvard Global Health Institute’s Inaugural Global Health Symposium, whose overarching theme is Achieving Global Health Equity through Community Engagement.
Dr. Barthélemy will be a panelist at the plenary session focused on anti-racism and decolonization of global health. Dr. Barthélemy’s participation is primarily based on a recently-published article in PLOS Global Public Health, which he co-authored.
The article, Historical determinants of neurosurgical inequities in Africa and the African diaspora: A review and analysis of coloniality, presents a review and analysis of the historical determinants of neurosurgical inequities as understood by a group of scholars who share Sub-Saharan African descent.
The Harvard Global Health Institute aims to assemble experts from across the globe and within Harvard University to highlight innovative, community-driven approaches to achieve global health equity.
