Newly-elected City and State Legislators Visit Downstate
By Office of The President | Sep 26, 2022
Downstate welcomed visits—coordinated by Alishia Goodridge, Assistant Vice President Government & Community Relations—to the campus from the most recently elected city and state members in the last few months. These visits provide an up-close view into our clinical enterprise at University Hospital at Downstate. We shared our accomplishments and challenges in delivering the best quality healthcare to our borough’s residents.
I was pleased to host the following elected officials on their recent visits: Brian Cunningham, Assembly Member, 43rd Assembly District, Antonio Reynoso, Brooklyn Borough President, Rita Joseph, Council Member, 40th City Council District, and Monique Chandler-Waterman, Assembly Member, 58th City Council District. Areas of interest toured included the Emergency Department, ICU, NICU, the Step-Down Unit for Cardiac & Medical Surgery, Transplant Unit, and Labor & Delivery. Thank you to Drs. Berger, Winston, Yusuff, Valencia, and Cheryl Rolston, MA, Chief Nursing Officer, for supporting and participating in these essential introductory tours for these newly-elected officials.
