By Office of The President | Sep 26, 2022

Congratulations to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion House Staff Council of the Office of Graduate Medical Education for sponsoring an outstanding Diversity Residency Recruitment Fair. Over a hundred potential residents attended the interactive virtual event earlier this month. The small group interactive sessions included as part of the event were especially noteworthy.

A faculty and resident panel included Ernest Barthelemy, M.D., MPH, Neurology Assistant Professor; Donnie Bell, M.D., Interventional Neuroradiology Clinical Assistant Professor; Carolina Camacho Ruiz, M.D., Emergency Medicine Assistant Program Director; Christina Guillén, M.D., Pediatric Residency Director; Rhonda Osborne, M.D., Radiology Residency Program Director; Jinel Scott, M.D., MBA, Clinical Radiology Associate Professor, and Melvin Stone, M.D., clinical assistant professor.

Panelists Drs. Aaron Conway, Patrick Kiendrebeogo, Ekene Nnadi, Omobola Onikoyi, Ornela Rutagarama, and Laura Uwakwe are all Downstate residents.

Thank you to the resident leaders who put this event together— Gabrielle Fonteneaux, M.D., and Karen Jeoffroy, M.D., Emergency Medicine Residents, Endy Cadet, M.D., MBA, Family Medicine Resident—as well as Teresa Y. Smith, M.D., MSEd, GME Associate Dean; Christina Guillén, M.D., Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Associate DIO; their team, and all the physicians and residents who helped make this event a resounding success.
