Participate in our research
Our research relies on the participation of volunteers. If you live in the New York area and would like to participate in our studies please contact us. We need a wide variety of subjects - from healthy individuals without any family history of alcoholism to alcoholics with a strong family history of alcoholism. An expense allowance can be paid for coming to us and spending some time with our Research Staff. Please note that after contacting us, you are under no obligation to participate in our studies if you change your mind later. All of your information will remain confidential and will not be passed onto any second or third party organization.
Our studies do not involve any medication. You will be interviewed by our staff and electroencephalograhic (EEG) recordings will be taken. These EEG measures require wearing a cap (similar to a bathing cap) which contains very sensitive electrodes to measure the electrical activity of your brain. These electrodes simply sit on the scalp without penetrating the skin.
