Welcome to the Research Foundation at DHSU!

NetID

Every active employee is assigned a NetID, which is used to access various computing resources. Upon your hire, you were provided with a NetID and an email address. You or your department administrator has been sent an email from IT with your NetID.

E-mail

The majority of active employees are provided a 'downstate.edu' email address and password. You should change the password as soon as you or your department administrator receive instructions from IT. All work-related communications must use the 'downstate.edu' email address. You generally wont' receive any replies to inquiries or requests using your personal email.

Employee ID

You should already have your DHSU ID card. If not, please follow up with HR. On the back of your ID card, you will see a number following the letters "UID." This is your employee ID number. This is your campus ID number.

To access RF systems, such as Employee Self-Service, you'll also be given a separate RF Employee ID number.

Employee Self-Service

Through employee self-service, you'll have access to your direct deposit payslips, paycheck stubs, update your contact information, tax forms, benefits information and more. If you've already enrolled in direct deposit with HR, you won't have to do it again. Simply head over to the RFSUNY website and select 'Self-Service." If you are a first time user, follow the 'set password here' link to set up your RFSUNY password.

Before you can access employee self-service, you'll first need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) after setting up your password.

Employee Benefits

Your benefits will become effective on the 43rd day. If you delay in enrolling more than 60 days after your hire date, you will be subject to a 5 pay period wait. See the Benefits page for more information about available benefits.

Holiday Schedule

In addition to your vacation and sick time, we have several days throughout the year where we are off for federal, city or state holidays. Review the holiday schedule.

Emergency Alert System

Student Affairs, Emergency Preparedness and the University Police Department are pleased to introduce our new Emergency Alert System, which replaces the EARS system, Send Word Now. We encourage you to join the Send Word Now system to receive emergency messages, if necessary.

The service contacts wired phones, email accounts, and mobile devices with voice or text messages that contain critical information.

The Downstate Emergency Notification System is used only in an emergency. If you ever receive a non-test message from the system, there is a genuine problem that requires your attention. The system is not used for routine notifications, such as weather.
