The Bursar's Office, located in the Basic Science Building (Room 1-128), is responsible for reporting and disbursing to the State Comptroller all money received at the Downstate Health Sciences University. These collections include tuition, fees, residence hall rent, admissions deposits, library fines and fees.

The Bursar's Office also disburses all funds made available through Federal, State, and local loan and scholarship programs. Students are encouraged to sign up for Electronic Refund to have excess financial aid and scholarship funds deposited directly into a bank account of their choice.

The Bursar's Office is open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We will continue to provide services via e-mail. Payment of most school charges can generally be deferred until approved financial aid is received by the school via the Banner self-service portal. We now offer an in-school payment plan for the payment of tuition.

Late charges are assessed for students who do not pay their tuition bills on time. For New students the due date for payment is provided on your tuition bill. All other continuing students must be sure and make payment by the published due dates. For specific late fee charges and payment due dates, refer to the student handbook for the current academic year, or visit the  Bursar web page and click on Tuition and Fees.

Every semester all students MUST  review and clear their tuition bill and verify their residency status. through the Bursar's office. All students must clear their bills including students that have full financial aid.

The Bursar's Office accepts cash, check, money order, Visa, Master Card and the Discover cards for payment. Students with questions concerning the calculation, deferment, or payment of their charges can call us Monday thru Friday from 10 am to 4:00 pm at (718) 270-1078 (Payment Plan) or (718) 270-1124, 3048, 3046 (General).
