Mini-fellowship Director: Dr. Wiener

The toxicology mini-fellowship is a monthly gathering where we discuss relevant journal articles and historical events of large scale poisonings. Recent topics have included cyanide poisoning and the Jonestown massacre, organophosphate and the Kim Jong-nam assassination, naloxone and the Moscow theater hostage crisis, snake oil and medical quackery, synthetic cannabinoid adulteration with brodifacoum, asphyxiants and the Lake Nyos disaster, methylmercury poisoning in Minamata Bay, buprenorphine induction in the ED, and many others. Participants are also encouraged to participate in monthly grand rounds and the monthly consultants conference at the NYC Poison Control Center. Mini-fellowship participants also engage in an active chat group including former mini-fellowship graduates who are now toxicologists to discuss real-time clinical toxicology questions, toxicology in the news, and other toxicology issues.
