#KeepCareClose: Exceptional Healthcare Right Here in Brooklyn

By Office of the President | Sep 3, 2024

We are thrilled to announce the launch of #KeepCareClose, an initiative focused on highlighting the availability of top-notch healthcare right here in Brooklyn at University Hospital at Downstate (UHD). This campaign is a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring that our community knows they do not have to travel far for high-quality care. By working together, we can expand our outreach, showcase our enhanced services, and reinforce UHD's position as a trusted community healthcare provider.

The #KeepCareClose campaign will ensure that our community members have access to high-quality healthcare in their own neighborhoods. In areas like ours, where transportation can be a hurdle, having care close to home means that patients can receive timely medical attention without the added stress of traveling long distances. This accessibility is especially critical for managing chronic conditions, maintaining continuity of care, and improving overall health outcomes.

The impact of the #KeepCareClose campaign goes beyond healthcare services. By keeping care close to home, we strengthen the bonds within our community, promote health equity, and support the health and well-being of our neighbors. When people have access to trusted healthcare nearby, it leads to healthier families, reduced emergency room visits, and a stronger, more resilient community overall.

The success of #KeepCareClose depends on the collective efforts of all Downstate faculty, staff, and community stakeholders. Your support and active participation are crucial in spreading the word, engaging with residents, and ensuring that everyone knows about the exceptional care available at UHD. Together, we can make a lasting difference in our community, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to receive the care they need close to home.
