We are excited to introduce our innovative new initiative, #KeepCareClose—a grassroots awareness campaign highlighting the proximity of healthcare access right here in Brooklyn at University Hospital at Downstate (UHD).

#KeepCareClose is more than just a campaign; it is the connecting of a shared belief that our patients, neighbors, friends, and families deserve exceptional, high-quality care right here at home, without the need to travel far.

This campaign is crucial—showcasing SUNY Downstate’s unique value as a healthcare facility and a lifeline for many in our community. The success of the #KeepCareClose campaign depends on all of us. As a dedicated team of staff, partners, and supporters, we can amplify our impact, reach those who need us most, and ensure that every person in our community has access to and receives the care they deserve. 

#KeepCareClose is about making healthcare personal, accessible, and integral to our community. UHD is reaffirming its steadfast commitment to our existing patients and spreading the word about expanded hours and services at its newly relocated Family Health Services Clinic at 253 Empire Boulevard.

The campaign and its catchy hashtag, #KeepCareClose, are already making waves in the community, with residents and local leaders recognizing the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare. UHD is strengthening ties in our neighborhoods, ensuring everyone knows there is a trusted healthcare partner right here in Brooklyn, and reinforcing its role as Brooklyn’s trusted healthcare provider by actively engaging residents and key community leaders.

Our work is just beginning. As we roll out #KeepCareClose, you will see campaign materials across Downstate’s social media platforms, in educational workshops, via text messaging and direct mail campaigns, at community events and health fairs, and in print and digital ads. 

These initiatives engage directly with our community, showcase our expanded services, and remind everyone that resources for their health and well-being are readily available. We will create a healthier Brooklyn where quality healthcare is always within reach.
