Embracing Opportunities and Excellence at Downstate!

Dear Downstate Community,

As we begin a new academic year, I am pleased to welcome our returning students, faculty, and staff and warmly welcome the new students joining each of our colleges at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (Downstate). I also extend a special welcome to our new SUNY Downstate employees. This time at Downstate signals renewal, growth, and exciting opportunities, and I am thrilled that you are part of this unique community.

To our new students, welcome to Downstate! You are beginning a journey that will challenge, inspire, and prepare you to become critical healthcare leaders. As a student in the College of Medicine, College of Nursing, School of Public Health, School of Health Professions, or School of Graduate Studies, you are now part of a rich tradition of excellence, innovation, and service.

To our new employees, we are delighted to have you join the Downstate family. Your talents and expertise will be invaluable as we advance our mission. You are joining a community that is deeply committed to improving the health of diverse communities through education, research, and patient care.

To our returning students, faculty, and staff, thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Your commitment to our mission is what makes Downstate a special place.
