Presidents Multi-disciplinary Investigator Seminar Series (PREMIS)
PREMIS is a series of interactive seminars that address the biological, social, and environmental contributors to health disparities across all 5 Colleges/Schools. Our previous experience identified that a noon-time series, advertised as ‘Brown Bag’ series, provides an informal setting where students, trainees, and faculty can enhance their knowledge of cutting edge and key topics in disparities.
These seminars will be archived on the Downstate website and available to faculty for CME credit. This will also expand the reach of our programs and increase interest in the faculty development research training program. We will invite faculty at Downstate as well as from other institutions to discuss their research, with a different topic being discussed every month.
This will also be a forum for all students and trainees in TRANSPORT to share their work. Thus, this will serve as an incubator that will stimulate discussions on relevant health disparities and public health policy topics.
