Brooklyn Health Disparities Community Health Advocates Mentorship Program (BHDC CHAMPS)

BHDC CHAMPS  is a 4-week community-engaged research program for high school students that introduces the fundamentals of public health, health sciences and research. This program provides an opportunity for local high school students who have interests in public health, health sciences and/or medicine to gain an understanding of health disparities and the social determinants of health that impact the health and wellness of our communities. It also provides students with an opportunity to build relationships with local community-based organizations (CBOs) through a partnership developing research projects.

 

Program Details 

  • Program Duration: July-August 2026
  • All participating students will receive a stipend. 
  • All particpating students will receive a letter of community service. 

Eligibility

Eligible high school students interested in public health, health sciences, community engagement, or health disparities research can apply.
