Mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention & SUNY Title VI and IX Responsible Employee Trainings

Greetings Colleagues/Students,
At SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (Downstate), we are committed to fostering a campus where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and able to fully participate. One way we support this shared commitment is through required training that helps us better understand how to participate in building a community grounded in dignity, respect, and belonging.
State law as well as SUNY policy require all members of the SUNY Downstate community to be trained annually on preventing sexual misconduct. This training is currently available in HealthStream (Course Name: CQ Sexual Harassment Prevention Training).
Additionally, all employees are required to complete the SUNY Title IX and Title VI Responsible Employee Training. This training encourages reflection on how our actions contribute to an inclusive community, highlights expectations for respectful engagement, and shares information about resources available if concerns arise. Completion of this training establishes you as a responsible employee who is required to report any perceived discrimination and harassment to the appropriate office at Downstate.
What you need to do
- Complete both trainings by Friday, October 30, 2026
- Access the Training Courses
- Once logged in to HealthStream, assigned courses will be available in your ‘To-Do’ list.
**If you have already completed the Sexual Harassment Prevention training in 2026—Thank you! You do not need to complete the course again for this year. If you are unsure whether you completed the training in 2026, you can follow up with ODI (ODISPARC@Downstate.edu) to confirm.
**If you are a Research Foundation employee, you may fulfill the sexual harassment prevention training requirement by completing the training offered by the Research Foundation.
